Obsidian (aka Obi) is a sweet and attentive little gentleman, who is 6 years young. He is very shy around new people but once he opens up to you, he could melt even the coldest heart. He loves to follow his people around the house and occasionally offer a paw to ask for attention. He enjoys snuggling under blankets and is very happy to have the companionship of dogs or cats. He has a submissive personality and tolerates being pounced on by his kitten foster siblings. He is good with dog-savvy older children (7+) but may be frightened around loud or hyperactive kids. He would do best living with a homebody, as he does not like to leave the house for more than short trips, and does not like to be alone.

Obi is not vocal, despite being a chihuahua mix. He may join in the chorus of howling and barking with other dogs, but doesn't ever initiate the cacophony. He occasionally grumbles or whines when dinner is not up to his high standards, and whines for a few moments when he is left alone, but is otherwise very quiet.

Obi is totally potty trained and asks to be let outside by crying and running to the door. If nobody is home to let him out, he is very good about holding it. He won't yet potty while wearing a leash (maybe he likes his privacy?) but his fosters are trying to work on that. He would appreciate a fenced in yard regardless, as he loves relaxing and playing outdoors. He's very respectful of the boundaries of a playpen and doesn't try to jump or dig out.

Obi is leash trained and doesn't pull or chase after distractions. If you are walking other dogs at the same time who are pulling, sometimes he will run ahead and pull with them; we think he is pretending to be part of a sled dog team. He is crate trained and is fine sleeping in a kennel, although he prefers a bed and doesn't cause mischief when wandering the house unattended.
