Hello, this is Ruby, she is a young adult Staffordshire Terrier. Ruby came to her foster home from the San Jose animal shelter after spending her life as a backyard dog. She was skinny enough that her ribs and spine were showing at the time, but she is already starting to fill into a more natural weight. So far in her foster home is
learning the fundamentals of discipline and obedience training. She is taking training classes with other large dogs and outside of classes, Ruby is learning to sit, stay, and wait while on leash. She is very attentive to her human while being walked on leash and has a healthy, playful temperament. Ruby will need a home where someone will be home with her during the day, as she tends to get very anxious when left alone for long periods of time. 

In addition, she is making great progress toward being crate trained and house trained. Ruby currently resides in a
small house with two adult humans and one young adult male Boxer. She is learning to behave under the direction of the humans and learning how to play and relax as a dog from her Boxer friend. Between playtime, Ruby enjoys relaxing in her crate, on a dog bed, and chewing on her toys. Though, she loves to receive treats and food for a job well done in training, Ruby especially loves to hear that she is a good girl and get pets and belly rubs. Ruby is spayed and current on vaccinations.

Update from Ruby's foster dad: Ruby loves to go on car rides. She is great with other dogs and would prefer to have at least one other dog as a companion. She has also passed the Beginning our Pack training program!
